Have You Ever Seen This Place…
One of my best friends, Chris Lizotte, also happens to be one of my favorite song writers/worship leaders as well. This morning at 2:30 Chris sent me a song about Heaven he just tore off in his home studio. It’s beautiful.
Most of you know I’m a morning person; the earlier the better. You can sleep when you die. My office at home faces our pond and woods which gives me a constant landscape, canvas if you will, for God to paint a gorgeous picture every morning in the form of sunrise. As I listened to Lizotte’s new tune about Heaven, this was what I was watching come to life. What a morning…Sunrise on Freedom Farm! What a Creator! Stuff like this makes everything OK…

What If Everything Was OK
I bought Tom Petty’s 30th Anniversary boxed set a couple weeks ago. First, I love Tom Petty and have since he started (I was in 7th grade). Secondly, he took no crap from record company execs and their squadron of lawyers. Third, this set chronicles his entire music life and is directed by Peter Bogdonovich, which is exquisite.
My favorite moment of the entire 3-disc set occurred when Tom, quite possibly for the last time in concert, waxed reflective/philosphic and asked his audience, “What if just for a moment, everything was OK?” He paused for a minute contemplating the results if his question could occur, then turned around with his hands in the air as if to refuse the glory usually aborbed by rock stars and “appeared” to be directing it to God. It was one of the coolest moments I’ve ever seen in any concert, Christian or otherwise. It’s still sticking with me several weeks later.
I don’t know…it’s just been something I’ve been thinking about….
