This is interesting. I recently wrote a song ending with the lyrics “There isn’t anything that we would rather do”. The problem with the song is not with it’s honesty. The problem is that it’s that when it’s supposed to rimshot into the next verse, most of my testosteronely-charged bros are singing two word disclaimers: “oh really?” and “except sex” and that messes up the song.
All this to say that I considered writing about this subject as the premier piece in a blog of my own. Thanks for writing yours FIRST though. Looking forward to your Florida articles. Rocky
The Holy Spirit absolutely led me to your article, thru a maze of other sites & blogs. Your blog describes what FREEDOM, really is.Freedom is to be intimate in ways that are peculiar to each saints personality/needs. Abba EMBRACES our “unusual” ways to reach out & relate to Him, & incorporates it ALL in creating Who He Wants Us To Be……. Innn Him, Of Him, For Him, With Him,Because of Him…….
Its a “shared intimacy”, that is soooo precious. I Love It, ….and HE LOVES IT, TOO. Whom the Son sets free, is FREE indeed. Sometimes the price is very high, huh? To get to this realm. It comes from this element: When I share in the sufferings of Christ, I am IN intimacy and fellowship WITH Him, and He comes sooo close and embraces my “peculiarities of love and affection”, that only He understands. And thats ok, cause its nobody elses business. period.

Great stuff, Lou. But I gotta ask, is that the same Praise Gathering where you yelled “sit down, fatty” at Sandy Patti? Or the one where you stepped on a broken glass in the hotel and shredded your foot? Ah, memories. BTW, I went to a day at PG last year to hear McLaren & Donald Miller. They announced that it was the last PG. You should have heard the collective gasp of the upper-middle-class Republicans.
