Where Louie’s NOT Eating

I was wondering if you would ever get to Hooks. Great experience with great people, but the food sucks! Especially at 3:30 in the morning. I am driving the KCC van, you are in the front seat and say, “We have to stop at Hooks Truck Stop.”

I said, “It is 3;30 in the morning and everyone is asleep.”

Your response, “Everyone will appreciate this stop.” And then it makes your #1 worst dining experiences. If the was a “My Name is Earl” show, this would be on your list of things to make up for in life so,

Where are we going to eat!

It seems like I’ve been everywhere in the US with you at 3:30 in the morning. Remember Providence RI at 3 AM? That was one of the funniest things ever. Wonder where Bake & Louie are right now? Well, we’re right here in Providence in case anyone asks. The fun we had…

Louie, you make me laugh more than anyone on this planet. Your Chinese Buffet experiences are hysterical. I was reading your Athens, Ohio experience to a student in my office. He told me that he saw (with his own eyes) a worker at a Chinese restaurant cut off of the head of a dead cat and bring the body inside the restaurant. I’m not eating Sesame Chicken there!!

Couple thoughts on your “Where Louie’s eating” list–the Pizza Hut Lunch Buffet in Grayson might be on that list if you hadn’t shut it down by eating 42 slices of pizza–JERK! I just told that story in a sermon at Round Lake this past weekend. But where is Smokey Valley Truck Stop on your list? And most importantly, have you ever eaten at the Thurmam Cafe in German Village (Columbus). Best burger on the planet!! Maybe the biggest burger on the planet as well!!

Ricky, you are the best. By the way, Smokey’s was featured on Diners, Drive Ins & Dives last month on the food channel. It was spectacular. I’ll definitely give Thurmans a try; however, the biggest burger in my experience, which is vast, is Judge Roy Bean’s in Dallas topping the scale at an overwhelming 5 lbs. Yes, a 5 lb burger which Vic Cales set the record by devouring it in 27 minutes. Absolute true story.
